Brabin starts with a draw
Gary Brabin started his second spell in charge of Southport with a thrilling 3-3 draw against Lincoln as the hosts ended a run of three straight home defeats and the visitors picked up a first point in six away games.
The Imps took an early lead on 11 minutes when Delano Sam-Yorke connected with Tom Miller’s low cross from the right and his shot crept in off the far post and Ben Tomlinson took advantage of more slack marking by firing into the bottom-left corner seven minutes later.
Southport pulled one back when Lincoln only half-cleared a free-kick and Charlie Joyce was on target with a well-struck effort, Richard Brodie then sliced a Sean Newton cross into his own net, but the striker soon made amends by heading in Jonny Lynch’s left-wing cross at the right end.
The home fans tried to rally their team after the interval and got their just reward when substitute John Marsden equalised late on with a 30-yard thunderbolt.
