Macclesfield maintain unbeaten run
Macclesfield remain unbeaten at home this season after claiming a 3-0 Vanarama Conference win over poor travellers Southport at Moss Rose.
The Silkmen got off to a good start when Luke Waterfall, on-loan from Scunthorpe, put them ahead after just nine minutes with a superb volley from a Waide Fairhurst corner.
Paul Turnbull then doubled the advantage after 22 minutes when firing a free-kick into the top corner and Waterfall added another with a fine header just before half-time.
Richard Brodie had a chance to pull one back for Southport in the second period and Ross Dyer tested Macclesfield goalkeeper Rhys Taylor with a solid header but the visitors slipped to a third straight defeat.
