First Half: After a drab opening 35 minutes the game finally sparked into life when Charlie Frost opened the scoring for the visitors with a cool finish from 10 yards.
Southport were then awarded a penalty for handball which Dior Angus took but it was saved.
Moments later it looked like Southport were denied a more clear cut penalty for another handball but this was waved away by the referee.
It took a tremendous 30 yard shot from Jack Stafford which flew into the net past the keeper who stood no chance to ensure the sides went into the break on equal terms.

Second Half: No further goals and straight to pens which Southport won 4-2
