Match Highlights – Kidderminster Harriers (H) 2024/25
Harriers in pain as they fail final test
SOUTHPORT shocked title-chasing Kidderminster Harriers, pushing them into the play-offs.
Early efforts by Dan Pike and Zak Brown whistled over and wide but it was the home side who looked more threatening in the first 20 minutes.
The opener came in the 34th minute and it came the way of the hosts, Sonny Hilton’s inswinging cross bobbled around in front of Christian Dibble and Tom Moore poked home at the far post.
The first half drew to a close but the second started in a flurry as after 30 seconds the home side doubled their lead, Danny Philliskirk firing hard and low from range past the unsighted Dibble.
Just before the hour mark the visitors hit back, A delivery from a wide set-piece found McNally free at the back post, tapping in past Chris Renshaw much to the jubilation of the travelling fans.
As Kidderminster needed another goal the game opened up and it was Southport looking dangerous on the break, several chances came the Sandgrounders way’ including substitute Dior Angus having an effort blocked.
With seven minutes added on the visitors threw everything at equalising, including sending Dibble up on every set piece, but it was the yellow wall that prevailed.
