In his 20-year playing career he played 533 League games, scoring 155 goals. As a manager he took charge of Port Vale and York City, Northwich Victoria and Hereford United.
Foyle recorded just 3 wins in 14 attempts as Southport manager following his appointment on 5th May 2014. He was dismissed exactly six months later, following a heavy defeat to Woking.
