On this day in 1957, Southport were given a tough game on the road at Bradford Park Avenue. Having defeated the yorkshiremen 5-1 on New Year’s Day they may have been expecting an easier ride.

Ray Minshull returned to the starting line up after missing two games through injury and Jimmy Prescott was tried at outside right.
