Southport fell to defeat in the last minute of added time against Peterborough Sports.

The Yellows took the lead in the 23rd minute as Dan Pike became the 492nd player to score for Southport as his shot from range was spilled by goalkeeper Peter Crook.

Just before half time the Turbines equalised through striker Ben Beresford as his shot was cleared off the line by Aaron Pickles but he followed up the rebound.

In the 55th minute the Sandgrounders regained the lead through Arthur Gnahoua as his free kick from 20 yards out went in off the post and ‘keeper.

After the goal went in recent signing Connor Wood was sent off due to dissent leaving Peterborough Sports down to 10 men.Luca Miller went through on goal in the 83rd minute and cooly slotted it past Chris Renshaw to equalise for the visitors.

The Turbines later scored in the 97th minute to win the game as Sam Straughan-Brown tapped into an empty net after a scramble in the box from a corner to complete a miserable night for the Sandgrounders.
