JORDAN SLEW’S second-half brace rescued a point for Southport against Kidderminster Harriers.
The point means Neil Danns’ side’s unbeaten run remains intact and lifts the Yellows out of the drop and into 19th position.
Both sides came out of the blocks with intent and corners at each end set the pace for the half.
Amari Morgan-Smith blazed a header over the bar after 14 minutes but moments later a deflected effort in the box by Zanda Siziba trickled into the net.
The visitors doubled the lead after 36 minutes when Morgan-Smith reacted quickly to poke the ball past Chris Renshaw following a mistake.
A triple substitution for the Sandgrounders at half time provided a much-needed change for the home side.
Southport pulled a goal back on the 56th after Mo Touray held the ball up before playing to Jordan Slew on the edge of the box who placed the ball expertly into the bottom corner.
Just seven minutes later the game was level, again Slew finding himself with time from outside the area and placed another excellent finish into the bottom-left, leaving Christian Dibble no choice but to watch the ball fly past him.
There was one side pushing for a winner as the game went on but the home side couldn’t get over the line, new signing Edy Maieco impressed off the bench and saw a late effort blocked as the game ended in a draw.
