Harry Beadles was the hat-trick hero on this day in 1927 as the Sandgrounders put Walsall to the sword in clinical fashion.
It wasn’t the only big win of the season for the side that was beginning to gain a reputation of cup giant killers. Wrexham were defeated 6-0 with Sapsford scoring four and Beadles two, and New Brighton were thrashed 7-2 with both Marshall and Beadles hitting hat-tricks.
